Kim Kardashian and Tom Brady, both in their forties, made a joint appearance at the inaugural Casino Night Event organized by the REFORM Alliance in Atlantic City, New Jersey, on a Saturday evening.
The renowned personalities were present for a charitable cause and engaged in an intriguing bidding contest during the auction, led by the auctioneer Gabriel Butu.
The event, which successfully raised $24 million to support criminal justice reform, witnessed a light-hearted showdown as the two icons vied for ownership of a painting.
After a spirited back-and-forth of bids, both eventually contributed a substantial $2 million each.
Kim Kardashian and Tom Brady agreed to resolve who would acquire the artwork privately. Notably, the artist behind the painting, George Condo, generously offered to create a duplicate for the other party, ensuring that both went home with a piece of art.
Additionally, Tom Brady offered a unique item for bidding: an unwashed Tampa Bay Buccaneers jersey worn during the historic moment when he scored his 700th career touchdown.
This event came after Kim Kardashian and Tom Brady‘s attendance at Michael Rubin‘s star-studded White Party in The Hamptons earlier that year.
While rumors of a romantic connection between the two circulated, sources informed “PEOPLE” that their interaction at the festive gathering was minimal.
One source noted, “[They] said hi briefly when she arrived at the party,” and a second source stated, “Kim and Tom barely even spoke at the party and barely even said hello.”
Despite Kim Kardashian mentioning her admiration for the athlete, a source clarified that their relationship remains platonic. “They are friends and have a lot of respect for each other,” the source affirmed.
The REFORM Alliance Casino Royale, hosted by co-chairs Michael Rubin, Meek Mill, and founding partner JAY-Z, attracted an array of A-list celebrities in addition to Kardashian and Brady.
The guest list included Travis Scott, Matthew McConaughey, Tiffany Haddish, Jack Harlow, Kevin Hart, Alex Rodriguez, Quavo, La La Anthony, and many more.
Despite speculation of a romantic connection between them, two insiders disclosed to PEOPLE that Kim and Tom had limited interaction during the festive event. “Their greetings were brief when Kim entered the party,” stated the initial source.
The second source reinforced this, stating, “Kim and Tom exchanged very few words and minimal pleasantries at the event.”
